In college, you’ll be required to do lots of reading. You’ll often have to complete reading assignments in several different books for several different courses at the same time.
SQ3R helps make reading and studying purposeful and effective, so that you use your time most efficiently. Here’s how this strategy works.
SURVEY
Let’s say your assignment is to read one chapter. First, get an idea of what the chapter is about by reviewing the highlights:
·       Read title, headings and subheadings.
·       Notice words that are italicized or bold.
·       Look at charts, graphs pictures, maps, and other visual material.
·       Read captions
·       Read the very beginning and end of the chapter

Student Success Statement

"Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the (3) magic key to living tour life with integrity."
W. Clement Stone

I agree with this statement because we all have the power to speak up for ourselves. For example if someone offers me to cheat on a test, I can simply say no and that is it. No explanations, just no, because that would be choosing the wrong and most likely I could get caught in the act. Saying yes is very easy to do, but so is saying NO. They are both easy to say, so why not go for the easy choosing the right than going for that easy choosing the wrong.

Student Success Statement

"Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force."
Elaine Maxwell

I agree with this statement because it speaks the truth. For example if I choose to have bad grades, I am the one that is choosing to do so not my peers. Or When I choose not to ditch school when everybody is doing it- It is me choosing the right not no one else.

Student Success Statement

"Nothing is ever gained in doing what's wrong"
Wilford Woodruff

I agree with this stament because nothing is ever good when doing what is wrong. For example when you do what's good you gain happiness, and respect, but when you do what is wrong, you gain nothing! all the bad things you can imagine getting when doing something wrong is NOTHING! Why? because CHOOSING THE WRONG should not even be considered.
